Cheesy Baked Mac & Cheese

    If comfort food had a name, it would be mac and cheese. This cheesy baked mac and cheese recipe is creamy, golden, and perfect for family dinners. I love making it on weekends because the aroma fills the house and makes everyone eager to eat. It’s a classic dish with a crunchy topping that makes it irresistible.

    Ingredients

    • 250g elbow macaroni
    • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
    • 2 cups milk
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook macaroni according to package directions, then drain.
    2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to make a roux.
    3. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth and thickened.
    4. Add cheddar, parmesan, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until melted.
    5. Mix cheese sauce with cooked macaroni and transfer to a baking dish.
    6. Top with breadcrumbs and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
